The University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Nursing is looking for an NP with experience in behavioral health to join an integrated team focused on quality improvement in public health initiatives. If this sounds like you, we invite you to apply for a full time position as a Visiting Nurse Practitioner with in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive health care for assigned patients/community as determined by scope of practice guidelines and specialty. This includes completion of a health assessment, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at UI Health and area of expertise. The NP participates in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other health care disciplines.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing clinical records to provide feedback on quality and risk management tasks.
- Making recommendations for quality improvement at program, agency, and case level.
- Developing resource material for assigned projects.
- Providing education, training, and support for community partners on assessment and other identified topics.
- Traveling to community partners and funder locations for quality assurance and training tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirement are Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctorate degree in Nursing required. License as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois required. Staff Nursing experience in family medicine, geriatrics pediatrics, or psychiatry preferred.
