The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks a full-time Instructor for teaching undergraduate students in the area of Exercise Science and Health Promotion, beginning August 2018.  The individual will teach the lecture and lab sections for basic Fitness assessment class, lecture and lab sections for core stability training methods class, and discussion/lecture sections for qualitative human movement analysis class. They will also be responsible for supervising experiential learning research projects and activities of undergraduates students and undergraduate teaching assistants(UTA), advise graduate students research projects, assist with departmental graduate teaching assistants orientation (GTA) and mentor GTA’s through monthly meetings, faculty  advisor for course curriculum and content of personal training courses and faculty advisor to kinesiology club .Candidate is expected to have clinical research knowledge in qualitative human movement analysis, postural assessment and core stability.

Candidates are required to have a Masters degree in Kinesiology or a closely-related field. They are required to be professionally certified in personal training, group fitness instruction, or health/fitness coaching from an NCCA accredited organization.  Five years of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, and/or group coaching is required, along with three years of teaching experience in higher education.  Evidence of leadership and management in the field including (but not limited to) working in a variety of professional environments and supervisory roles is highly desirable, along with engagement in translational scholarship through publications, conference presentations, and/or membership in community and professional organizations.

The successful candidate will have a personal and professional commitment toward teaching and student growth, along with experience working in the field with diverse populations. They should be comfortable with the use of technology for online teaching; possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; and work well in a team environment.
