Senior Academic Advisor

["• Schedule and prepare for advising appointments\r\n• Regularly advise students by appointment and walk-ins\r\n• Advise students for special majors. (Special Major Program provides students with an opportunity to create their own academic majors. Students initiate and develop their own programs under the guidance of two faculty members and a senior academic advisor and then obtain approval from the Special Major Committee. The Senior Academic Advisor will manage the entire process to be sure the student has all requirements needed to have the program recognized as a major.)\r\n• Have a breadth of knowledge that encompasses all majors and degrees within the College of Arts and Sciences. \r\n• Participate in orientation and/or present at workshops\r\n• Enroll students in appropriate courses\r\n• Respond to student requests\r\n• Works with other campus student services as necessary", "• Develop and maintain contact with department directors of undergraduate studies, faculty, and professional staff with regard to recruitment, admissions, retention, advising issues and tasks\r\n• Assist departments with specific advising concerns or issues\r\n• Informs CASUAPS staff", "• Liaison to Admissions, Advising and other offices\r\n• Prepares recruitment publications", "• Supervisor of student specialists\r\n• Trains, supervises, recruits staff of student specialists", "• Serve on CAS and Campus-wide committees; Undergraduate Advisement Council, Orientation Planning Committee, Publications Committee"]
