Position Summary:

We are seeking applications for an Access Control Specialist who coordinates operation, support and troubleshooting of security access systems for Chemeketa College, including S2 Security – Access Control Systems. Responsibilities include overseeing installation and performing maintenance of both hardware and software while monitoring daily operations. This person will design and implement a training program for Chemeketa Community College staff to increase efficiency in using the security access software.

Requirements

High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
-AND-
Two years of access control related work experience

Core Competencies:

  • Working field knowledge of Sargent mechanical hardware, MEDICO cylinders, door closures, electrified, WIFI and POE, lock sets  electrified strikes and key pads
  • Knowledge of computers and applicable software applications; advanced computer installation, configuration, and/or networking principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of operating systems; database management and/or administration principles; network server and/or workstation principles; applicable programming principles and/or languages
  • Knowledge of basic Criminal Justice
  • Skills in installing, configuring and troubleshooting technological platforms, networks, and systems; utilizing and managing databases
  • Skills in communicating technical information to a non-technical audience; designing reports; providing end-user support for complex problems; communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
  • Ability to work without direct supervision in a self-directed and self-motivated manner paying attention to detail; analyze and solve complex problems, learn and apply new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Surveillance camera experience
  • Bilingual/Bicultural
