Director of Advancement, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences

Building strong connections with our alumni and donors worldwide is critical to our success; the Division of University Advancement is leading the effort. We are creating a new UB environment that broadens opportunities for alumni engagement, capitalizes on positive student experiences and builds philanthropic support through the Boldly Buffalo fundraising campaign. The goal to reach 90,000 engaged alumni and 650 million dollars in philanthropic support of this historic fundraising initiative is the focus of our division and the guidepost for engagement.
This position is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic fundraising professional who is eager to participate in the evolution of the fundraising programs at the University at Buffalo. The Director will join a team of professionals who are focused on ensuring sustainable philanthropic growth commensurate with the needs of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences by engaging alumni and friends, soliciting prospects and stewarding donors in a professional and collaborative manner.
The Director’s primary responsibility is to:
• Identify and engage major gift prospects and donors capable of making gifts of 100,000 dollars plus
• Secure annual commitments totaling 1.5 million to 3 million dollars.
• Execute approximately 133 donor meetings annually.
A Senior Director title will be considered if a candidate meets or exceeds the requirements for this position.
