["a.\tDevelop, refine and implement training courses for both legally mandated (Federal, State and Local), and University-specific needs related to EH&S programs/workplace safety.\r\n\r\nb.\tCoordinate with appropriate Facilities Operations personnel to schedule training session times and locations for all shifts.\r\n\r\nc.\tMaintain records of training dates, content and employee attendance.\r\n\r\nd.\tCoordinate with other EH&S personnel and contractors to provide subject matter expert training when appropriate.\r\n\r\ne.\tCoordinate and/or assist with SME props/training for individual shops.\r\n\r\nf.\tWhen appropriate, develop practical mock-ups or site visits to work locations. Verify that employees have understood and retained the training content in a supervised and monitored demonstration.\r\n\r\ng.\tDevelop, maintain and disseminate information and technical guidelines related to facilities safety.\r\n\r\nh.\tAssist supervisors in establishing procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) \r\n\r\ni.\tProvide instruction to supervisors and handouts/tools to facilitate “toolbox” safety sessions within the individual maintenance and trades shops.", "a.\tCreate, update and maintain written policies and procedures that are required to comply with state and federal regulations and campus standards related to facilities/trades health and safety programs. \r\n \r\nb.\tAs necessary, verify that employees have an understanding of the procedures and are able to apply them in the workplace\r\n\r\nc.\tWork with EH&S management and other departments as needed in an effort to obtain appropriate approvals, authorizations and commitments.\r\n\r\nd.\tActively assist supervisors in conforming with policies and updates as needed to maintain compliance.\r\n\r\ne.\tCommunicate information and changes to appropriate people.", "a.\tProvide guidance on purchases of safety equipment and engineering controls.\r\n\r\nb.\tProvide assistance for job hazard analyses and other work safety related requests, as needed.\r\n\r\nc.\tConduct accident investigations for incidents involving Facilities Operations personnel, property or related environmental incidents\r\n\r\nd.\tPerforms hazard assessments and job safety analyses. Uses various instrumentation to measure and monitor conditions and workplace exposures.\r\n\r\ne.\tPrepares technical and administrative reports based on data collected in hazards assessments and accident investigations and presents the information to stakeholders. Provides recommendations for accident avoidance.\r\n\r\nf.\tDefine employees falling under various regulatory requirements for workplace monitoring and medical surveillance. Work with employees, supervisors, EH&S and contractors to arrange for these services.\r\n\r\ng.\tProvide assistance and interfaces with EH&S and operations personnel for asbestos and mold-related calls, non-routine pest control and other problems and emergencies. Support the EH&S asbestos and lead programs as required.\r\n\r\nh.\tAs assigned, serves as the Chair or Co-Chair of the Facilities Safety Committee\r\n\r\ni.\tAttend bi-weekly Facilities Operations Supervisors Meetings to provide updates on safety programs and initiatives.", "a.\tConduct minimally annual inspections of facilities-operated shops on north, south and downtown campuses.\r\n\r\nb.\tWork with shop supervisors and personnel to identify risks and correct action items.\r\n\r\nc.\tIssue and maintain reports and track action items.\r\n\r\nd.\tConduct periodic, unannounced walkthroughs and provide support for correction of any action items found.", "a.\tAs assigned, serve on laboratory inspection teams and perform lab safety audits to determine the existence of hazards, dangerous exposures (chemical, biological and /or radioactive), and unsafe conditions.
