Assistant Director for Recruitment and Communication Strategies, Office of Admissions

The incumbent will assist with developing and implementing the domestic and international undergraduate admissions marketing and communications plans, which include both print and digital components in collaboration with Interdivisional Marketing and Communications.
 
  • In collaboration with the associate director, establish, maintain and coordinate the communications calendar throughout the admissions cycle. 
  • Assist with coordinating the development, implementation and assessment of all print and electronic communications as they pertain to reaching university enrollment goals.
  •  Assist with developing the written content for emails, print materials, social media, website and digital campaigns.
  • Coordinate the development of various presentations in support of recruitment visits and events.
  •  Assist with managing the relationship with external vendors for photography, graphic design and video production.
  • Assist in developing and implementing admissions social media campaigns. 
  • Assist in the coordination of academic unit- based communications in promoting UB to prospective students. 
  • Assist with coordinating special services with campus mail or outside fulfillment companies.
  •  Assist in developing recruitment and communications initiatives for constituent audiences.
  • Utilize the CRM system to engage prospective students and special groups. This includes monitoring the defined communications plans within the CRM system to ensure timely delivery of print and electronic media to targeted audiences.
  • Assist with ensuring the admissions web presence remains dynamic and current by regularly reviewing content and managing needed updates via the proper channels.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives through various tools.
  • Stay updated on current trends and the needs of various target audiences to develop impactful marketing and communications materials.
  • Work with the parameters of university guidelines to ensure all marketing and communications materials reflect the university brand.

  • Build and cultivate key relationships and partnerships with constituents such as secondary school communities, community-based organizations, alumni and professional organizations.
  • Participate in the recruitment of prospective students within assigned territories and identified regions including virtual, on campus, off campus and international events/visits.
  • May include evenings, weekends and overnight travel.
  • Assist with executing coordinated efforts focused on diversity recruitment activities to include racial, ethnic, gender and identity-based groups.
  • Assist throughout the admissions cycle with phone and email communications, text messaging, virtual appointment, in-person consultations and group presentations. May require evening and weekend participation.
  • Assist in all phases of the application processing. File review activities include monitoring files for completeness, data entry and fielding questions from applicants. Review and make admissions decisions regarding freshman and transfer applications.
  • Become well versed with university admissions requirements for all programs and monitor application data.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
